The UK has retained EU-derived contaminant rules in its own law; aflatoxin and SO₂ limits are largely the same as in the EU. For certain products listed as high-risk, the importer may need to pre-notify via IPAFFS and pass official checks.
Preferential duty under the Türkiye–UK Free Trade Agreement requires proof of origin (EUR.1 or origin declaration). Labels for products sold in Great Britain must be in English and include the address of a UK food business operator.
